Me and My Mom Astral Travel

Me and Mom Astral Travel

This is the most interesting dream. I have them from time to time. I was just thinking that I need to stop eating late and take my daily nap more regularly as I had been missing my nap lately. I am so grateful to have the type of lifestyle where I can take a nap when I feel sleepy. So this morning after sending the grands off to school, I took a nap. Generally, I take a 2 hour nap and it was exactly two hours later when I woke up.  When I woke up this morning, I thought about an old friend and how I hadn't heard from her in a while. I wondered if I should contact her then thought better of it.

This dream starts with me and my Mom sitting together one morning watching a news report on the computer. (My mother is deceased, BTW, but she has always been a constant companion in my dreams so it's nothing to see her in them. This occurred before and after she made transition.) The news story starts with a headline, "Woman claims to have sex every night with various partners." We scroll to and read the story. It continues.. "The woman stated that she has sex every night and has no trouble finding someone to have sex with. "I don't know why folks claim they are lonely or can't find anyone to be with, I don't have any trouble at all. I have sex every night and seldom with the same person."

Me and my Mom find this really strange. I don't know what my Mom was thinking but for me, I couldn't imagine that would be a safe thing to do. Knowing my Mom, she probably thought she was a prostitute or something. Surely prostitutes can line them up, every night and every day and many for that matter. We didn't discuss this aloud we just watched the video of this woman making her statement.

Initially the picture of her had her captured from her neck to upper torso so we couldn't see her face, but the video opens with her sitting in a stylist chair, getting her hair done. As she spoke the camera panned out and captured her whole body. She was an African American and she had one leg amputated at the knee. My mind started to race. All kinds of thoughts rushed thru but mostly I wondered about the men she "easily" got to have sex with her who didn't care about her missing leg. I wondered about the sex she had and the positions  they got into. Then I just shook my head and looked over at my Mom who was shaking her head too. Some folks take too many risks in this day and age.

In the camera view off to the right, I notice my Friend Vanessa, I had just thought of contacting earlier that day. She has a maroon colored shirt and tan khaki's and she's leaving the salon.
"Mom, there goes Vanessa, see her over there?"
It was a quick shot but I recognized her right away, that was easy.
"Who's Vanessa?  "And she's having sex with a different man every night?"
"No, Mom that's the lady in the barber's chair, She said that. Vanessa is leaving the salon over there off to the right."
"Oh, I thought you were saying the lady in the chair was Vanessa."
"No, Mom, I was saying that Vanessa was there in the camera shot."
Then I thought to myself, wow, that was interesting, I wonder if she knows she is going to be in this news story.
We are still watching the video when it shifts to another view and it's Vanessa and her wife walking into a house that's next to a house with the address 816 on it. That's Germantown avenue. I seem to know that is the name of the street due to the fact that I know that she and her wife live on Germantown Avenue. We watch them go into the house but before they actually go in, Vanessa looks over at us and smiles. She has the most beautiful captivating smile. But that was weird, how could she see us, when we are sitting here looking at a video on the computer???
They go into the house and then a few minutes later, Vanessa comes back out. She is smiling and walking towards us as if she wants to greet us or something and that's really strange as well.

"Hi, Nana, how are you doing and what are you doing here?"
This is very confusing. Me and my Mom are like, what the heck is she asking that question for.. When we realize that she can actually see us.
"Hi Vanessa, but we are not here. Me and my Mom are at home watching you on our computer. How can you see us?" I am totally perplexed.
"Huh? How can you be home when you are sitting right here?" she asks.
"Because that's where we are. Look I still have my robe on." I say and point to my robe that by this time I had taken off and it is now hanging from the back of my chair.

"My Mom and I are sitting here together watching the news on the computer. We saw you at the hair salon when they were interviewing that woman who was missing a leg and talking about how she has sex with different men every night."
"What?" Vanessa responds, "I was at the hair salon earlier today, but I didn't see you there."
"That's because we were not there, we were and still are watching the news report on the computer!"
Dang, I couldn't explain it and my Mom didn't help me out either. She didn't say anything at all, not one word!!! It felt so strange.
"Look, do you think I would walk all the way here and sit outside of your house with no shoes on?" I point to my feet, I typically wear my slippers in the house but my feet had gotten warm so I pushed them off.
"Do you think I would bring my Mom, to sit outside of your house to watch you go into yours?"
"Well, not not really but how did you get here?"
"I don't know how we got here, we ain't here, we are at my house. How did you see us, is the real question."

Just then, her wife comes over to where we are. She is not too happy to see Vanessa talking to me. I am in my head wondering how she can see us too. Vanessa tries to calm her down but we can see that this is a consistent argument they have cause it hits level 10 instantly.

"Look, calm down, I just came over to say hi."
"Yeah right, that's all you came over here to do. Right" she says quite accusingly and I am still trying to figure out what the hell is going on here. My Mom , well she ain't saying nothing, nothing at all.

They go back and forth. At one point she tries to get closer to us, and Vanessa stalls her off. The woman looks like she was putting on her lipstick when she notices Vanessa out here talking to us, we are obviously outside somewhere. Her arms are flailing and she is fussing at Vanessa. I can see her black lipstick half way on her lips and smudge a bit as if she stopped right in the middle of putting it on. Vanessa makes a motion towards her face as if to say, look at your lips, and the woman takes her hand and wipes her lips but she continues to fuss at Vanessa for coming out to speak to me and my Mom. Who has still not said a word at all. After a few moments another woman comes up and helps Vanessa calm her wife down and they turn and walk away.

I look at my Mom and shake my head. Un-fricken-believable. How the hell did that happen and how the hell did we get there and how the hell did Vanessa see us when we were just sitting watching a news video on the computer.
"Maybe we traveled somehow from your house to here." My Mom offers her two cents after everything was over. "Yeah Mom, maybe we did, but how did that happen? That's totally weird, we never left the house!"

Next thing you know, we are sitting in a waiting room area. There are several folks sitting around us. It looks like we are in an office building or some place like that where folks exchange important documents. It could have been anywhere, we don't know now since we just happen to arrive at these places. We do recognize now that folks can see us as well. Mom turns around and looks at the man behind her.

"I think I recognize that man behind us." she says. "I've seen him on television in some show, I can't remember him or his name or the name of the show, but he looks familiar to me." She offers.

"Where is he Mom? I am still so perplexed that in trying to figure out where we are, I didn't think to recognize anyone there.
"He is sitting right behind us."
I turn to look at him.
"Don't turn around like that, don't look right at him. Just look over there first and then turn around."
I can't believe she is telling me this, she knows that when you say look at that, I immediately turn to look, she always used to say that to me, don't turn around like that. So, I look to the right and then turn and look at this guy behind us.
He must have known I was about to turn around an look at him, he smiled the biggest smile ever, with several teeth missing. This made me laugh and even wonder if we may have "landed" in a dentist office.

He is dressed in a worn hat, a dark green-grey trench coat and he had the most comical look on his face with all them teeth missing here and there. They were not uniformly missing just missing at certain points in his mouth. But he smiled so broadly, I don't think he even cared.

I turn back around and say, "Hmmmm, I don't recognize him from any TV show, but that's not strange, since I don't watch TV and I don't own a television."
Next thing, we are looking up at a sign on the street, it says 30th street.. I'm straining to see what else it says cause we are now under a proverbial elevated train and it looks like NY to me. I can barely make it out but it says, 35fth Avenue.

"Mom, we are in New York now!"
"Really?"
"Yes we are, they have streets like that in New York."
I begin to sense that I do not have on anything on my feet. I am still a bit perplexed but now I am beginning to realize that we are astral traveling and the deep part about it is that folks can see us. But here the dream starts to fade and I hear my mom's voice (she is so typical).
"See, that's what we get for questioning God's work. He decided to take us on a journey and all we did was question it."

Epilogue:

This part of the dream is really vague, I can barely remember before we started watching the news story on the computer, that I did something with the computer. It seems there may have been something I had to do to it to make it take me to the internet. What I saw come up when I turned it on was unusual and I was a bit confounded by it. But again, I can't totally recall that part of the dream's beginning.
